A private goal journal.
You write the day down. Your own AI model turns it into a polished entry, moves the goals it touched, and keeps the themes running underneath.
Progress should accumulate from writing, not from bookkeeping.
Every AI feature in sarn exists to remove admin, not to add a chat window. You write; the app does the sorting.
Write whatever happened
One box, no fields. A paragraph about the day, or a sentence about one thing. Nothing asks you to tag it, categorise it, or file it anywhere.
Your model does the filing
It polishes the entry, works out which goals you touched, updates those goals' progress, and files a point under one of four running themes. Your raw text is kept exactly as you typed it and is never overwritten.
Come back tomorrow
Today is three things that matter, plus reminders. Write and move a goal and the day counts; three counted days in a row start a run.
Small, closed lists. Derived order. Nothing to maintain.
Three things, and your reminders
A short list that can actually be finished, rather than a backlog that never is. Big 3 items link back to the goal they belong to; reminders are everything else the day needs.
A roadmap, not a to-do list
Each goal's tasks sort themselves into Ready now, Waiting on something, and Done, derived from the dependencies between them. There is no drag-to-reorder anywhere in sarn, on purpose.
Themes that accumulate
Accomplishments, What's working, Needs improvement, Worth considering — four running lists your model maintains across every entry, with each point linking back to the days it was drawn from.
A missed day is owed, not lost
A day counts when you wrote and a goal moved. Three in a row start a run; miss one and the next good day pays it back instead of adding to the count. The cairn leans rather than emptying.
Export it or delete it, today
Download everything as one readable JSON file, or delete the account outright. Both are a button in Settings — no email, no waiting, no retention period.
Installs like an app
sarn is a mobile-first web app you can add to your home screen, built for opening in the morning to set the day and at night to write it down.
Free. You bring the key.
There is no subscription, no trial and no card. You connect your own API key from OpenRouter, OpenAI, or any OpenAI-compatible provider, and you pay that provider directly for what you use. Your key is encrypted before it is stored, is only ever sent to the address you saved it against, and never reaches your browser — only its last four characters are shown back to you.
Haven't got a key? sarn still works. Goals, the Big 3, reminders, the journal and the run all run without one — the polishing and the themes are the part that waits.
Later, maybe hosted. A version where sarn supplies the model is planned but does not exist yet, and nothing about how your writing is handled will change without being told first.
Questions about keys and models →A journal is only worth keeping if you trust where it lives.
Encrypted field by field
Entries, goals, tasks and your stored key are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written, using a key that is not in the database.
Not zero-knowledge, and we say so
The server decrypts your writing to show it to you and to send it to your model. Anyone controlling the running server could reach it. That is the honest limit.
Never training data
Your writing is not used to train any model of ours, and is not sold or shared for advertising. What your own provider does with it is governed by their policy.
Start with one goal and tonight's paragraph.
Three days in a row is a run. That is the only thing sarn asks you to keep up with.
